Lisa Foster writes on Restaurant-Guide.com:
"I Love this Bar, its very cosy and the staff are friendly and helpful. We have a boat on the canal and always call in here for a drink and a bite to eat when we visit Castlefield.
The Food is excellent."

Angela B from Hastings, East Sussex writes on Yelp:
"Castlefield pulls another one out of the bag!
It's great to dine alfresco here in the summer and take in the beautiful Castlefield surroundings but equally as nice in the winter as a cosy home from home with it's sofas and new york apartment feeling. It makes the place feel so intimate, and the staff are so friendly too.
The food is all locally sourced and everything I have tried here has been delicious and considering the atmosphere and the quality, its very moderately priced to boot. Where else can you get a bottle of wine for £7.50, or create your own pasta dish from their selection of sauces, meat and fish? A true gem."

Alexandra S from Manchester on Yelp:
"You may have noticed if you are nice enough to have read a few of my reviews:) that I tend to love all things Castlefield! This is because the bars and restaurants in this area tend to be very loveable indeed.
This is the newest addition. A real local feel to it with great views yet another opportunity to relax and unwind in Castlefield. The menu has reasonably priced pizza and pasta - everything I love. From 12-7 you can get two pizza and a bottle of wine- HOORAY. What more could you do to please a girl like me. LAVA you lovely lovely cafe."

James B from Manchester on Yelp:
"The same old story never sounded so good.
It really doesnt matter how repetitive it becomes waxing lyrical about any bar or restaurant found within the Castlefield basin, facts are facts.
As I've said many times before, the area is easily amongst the most picturesque places in the country so it really doesn't matter what your bar is like, if its here then it'll be just fine.
So the fact that Lava is a fantastic little bar all in it's own right is something of a bonus really.Warm and inviting with a distinctly Mediterranean feel, pizzas are the order of the day here, as are local celeb's with Jason Orange and a large handful of Corrie stars owning apartments just upstairs."
